Six: Process, Recovery Time and Home Care | 57 Once the process is complete – and you get your teeth back! – you become the most important person in the life of your dental implants. To stay healthy, strong and functional, they need you to take care of them! This is no different than any other kind of oral hygiene: dental implants require maintenance every day (if you want them to “last a lifetime”). Similarly, if you neglect them, you can expect to have the same troubles you have with natural teeth when you don’t take care of them. And so, dental implants need routine maintenance. Just few minutes of your time each day can prevent bone loss, bad breath, pain, gum infection, gum disease and increase your enjoyment of eating, speaking, smiling and the overall likelihood of lasting implant success.
