Well, that needs to happen, before any abutments, crowns or dentures can be attached to the dental implants. Osseointegration (essentially, the bone fusing to the screw-like surface of the dental implant in the jaw) usually takes three to six months. And osse- ointegration must occur before you can safely place an abutment or crown onto an implant, or clip a denture to an abutment/implant combination. IMPORTANT: “OSSEOINTEGRATION” CAN NEVER BE RUSHED. IF ANYTHING IS ADDED TO THE DENTAL IMPLANT TOO SOON, YOU CAN BET THAT IT WILL FAIL
