50 | GETYOURSMILEBACK:EVERYTHINGYOUNEEDTOKNOW... – but you can respond to stimuli; for example, if someone shook you, you would “wake up.” While you may be oblivious to what’s going on, you can still answer questions, respond to the dentist’s instructions (which can make the surgery go more smoothly), and maintain your reflexes. v. Deep Sedation If you want to be completely “knocked out” for your treatment, we will perform your dental implant procedure and monitor your safety while you’re unconscious. Deep sedation is different from moderate seda- tion because you will be completely unresponsive to any verbal or physical stimuli – for example, if someone shook you, you wouldn’t “wake up.” You will be completely unaware of your surround- ings, because you’ll essentially slip into a very deep sleep. You won’t hear / feel anything, or remember a thing about what happened during your procedure.
